A Behavioral Software Engineer in India

Mr. V. "Shaker" Chandrasekhar is a software engineer living in India, who writes an occasional column in Sulekha Expressions called "About Behaviorism and Other Things." He discovered Skinner's analysis by reading the books, because he had no access to a teacher in India that he could learn from.

A recent column called "Is there something else at work?" encouraged people to consider the role that non-verbal behavior plays in complimenting explicitly verbal thoughts in complex problem-solving behavior such as debugging a computer program. Check out his columns by clicking here...

Proceeds of the conference support the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting solutions from Applied Behavior Analysis to behavior-based challenges such as workplace safety.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysis and Therapy (BABAT) will hold its 25th Annual Conference at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) on Thursday and Friday, October 14th and 15th, 2004. Since 1980, The Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysis and Therapy has gathered annually to hear the latest findings in behavior analysis from some of the most influential leaders in the field. Last year, nearly 400 people attended the BABAT Conference.

This year, in honor of our 25th Annual Conference, we have invited more speakers than ever before, including Jim Carr (Western Michigan University), Richard Foxx (Penn St. University), Scott Gellar (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University), Brian Martens (Syracuse University), Jack Michael (Western Michigan University), David Palmer (Smith College), Cathleen Piazza (Marcus Institute), Bridget Taylor (Alpine Learning Group), Tim Vollmer (University of Florida), and David Wacker (University of Iowa).

Additionally, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the BABAT conference, we will be offering FREE BACB and APA CE credits!

We invite you to participate in this year's BABAT conference! We are now accepting submissions for symposia, papers, workshops, panel discussions, and posters. The submission deadline for symposia, papers, workshops, and panel discussions is April 15, 2004. The submission deadline for posters and the program exposition is June 1, 2004. The BABAT Call for Papers and detailed submission guidelines can be viewed online at http://www.babat.net.
