A Gift of Honor or Memorial

A gift made in one’s name is always a meaningful way to mark a special occasion or to remember or honor a beloved family member, respected friend, or colleague.

Honor a person during his or her life or commemorate a significant event like a birthday, wedding, or holiday. For gifts of $15 or more, we will send an elegant card to the honoree notifying them of your gift. When making your gift online, please designate the street or email address of the person whom should receive the card. The amount of the gift is not revealed unless you request it to be.

Your memorial gift to CCBS can help perpetuate the values and ideals that guided someone’s life. We will send a card to the family or loved one of the person you memorialized notifying them of your gift. When making your gift online, please let us know the name and address of the person whom should receive the card. The amount of the gift is not revealed.

Donate a Talk

A good way you can help is to “donate a talk” to the Center. Many of you already give colloquia, workshops, or keynote presentations. By donating all or a portion of your speaker’s honorarium or workshop fees to the Center, you can support the Center’s mission. In one deed you can disseminate your critical part of behavior analysis, advance the Center’s mission, and broaden public awareness of the Center. ”Donating a talk” is easy. Simply:

  • Commit to “donate a talk” through the Pledge Form. The Center will then add your name, the title/topic of the talk, the event, and the date to our list of esteemed speakers who have pledged to donate or have donated the honoraria of a talk to the Center.

  • Once you’ve delivered your talk, you can either request the event coordinators to donate your fee via the Center’s online donation system or you can do so yourself.

Bequests - Gifts Anyone Can Afford

Leaving a provision for CCBS in your will or living trust is a thoughtful, visionary way to extend your dedication to future generations. All funds donated to CCBS will be placed in our permanent endowment and provide a permanent lifeline to guarantee the viability of our programs and help us meet unforeseen challenges.

Remembering CCBS in your estate plans with an asset, dollar amount or percentage of your estate can help reduce or eliminate taxes which your estate may otherwise owe.

If you already have a Will, you can use the following suggested wording to make a provision for CCBS:

Cash Bequest
I give and bequeath to the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, Beverly, MA (Federal Tax I.D. #04-2751296) the sum of $                    U.S. dollars to be used for its general purposes.

Residuary Bequest
I hereby give and bequeath to the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, Beverly, MA (Federal Tax I.D. #04-2751296) all (or         %) of the rest, residue or remainder of my estate to be used for its general purposes.

Specific Bequest
I give and bequeath to the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, Beverly, MA (Federal Tax I.D. #04-2751296)                     shares of                             [ all my right, title and interest in the following described property:                                               ] to be used for its general purposes.

Contingent Bequest
I hereby give and bequeath (description of property) to my spouse, if he or she survives me. If my spouse does not survive me, I give and bequeath (description of property) to the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, Littleton, MA (Federal Tax I.D. #04-2751296) to be used for its general purposes.

Gifts of U.S. IRAs and Qualified Retirement Plans
You can name CCBS as the beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of your U.S. retirement plan, your 401(k), 403(b), IRA, Keough, etc. If you leave your plan to CCBS, we are able to avoid income tax on the money. Your loved ones, on the other hand, would incur high taxes on the account, which can be as high as 48 percent! By leaving your retirement plan to CCBS, you help support our initiatives in providing information on high-quality behavioral services and science and can leave your loved ones other estate assets that are not taxed as highly.

The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies is a charitable, nonprofit organization with IRS 501(c)(3) status. Why Contribute?

“The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies is the only organization of which I am aware that takes as its primary mission the integration of Behavior Analysis into the community: the community of business; of education, both regular and special; of families; of criminal incarceration and rehabilitation; of politics; and others. The Center and its mission deserve our full support.”
—Murray Sidman, Ph.D.
“The Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies does extraordinary work toward improving education and business practices through furthering our understanding of human behavior. It is, therefore, in the self-interest of all of us to support this highly relevant Center.”
—Henry Kaufman, Ph.D.
